Night Before the 500, Indianapolis Raceway Park, May 28, 2005:

Typically we don't print photos of crashes, but this photo sequence by Don Figler is such an exceptional photographic display that we couldn't resist.  The accident occurred during the qualifying race at The Night Before the 500, in John Lawson's new Drinan midget.  Johnny jumped out of the car on his own power as soon as the car came to a rest in turn 4, which is a testament to the superior qualities of the Impact! Racing belts Johnny uses exclusively.  Johnny was unhurt, and he raced the next day in the Tom Burkey sprinter at Eldora.  {Photos are courtesy of Don Figler.)
